This column asks one thing: what has AI actually forced into the open? Not the discovery-style panic of "will AI replace us", but the genesis-style question — which long-hidden, never-truly-occurring gaps in education, the university, and thinking itself has this machine exposed?

That completion is discovery's abdication from the ledger where thought competes. This line meets the book in the Academic Creation column at exactly one point. Part III asks what a signature weighs, and moves the centre from "what did I contribute" to "I answer for all of it". In the same week, The Manufacture of Rejection arrives at the same place from the other side (§4.5): current authorship norms bind byline to responsibility as if by logic, but what they want is not that someone answers — it is that every name in the byline can be pursued. That book's byline (Claude and Wang Desheng) is Part III's proposal, executed: not divided by contribution, but signed by answerability. The price is registered as wager 11 in its Appendix C — the byline makes it unpublishable under current norms. And Part IV's verification apparatus and that book's rejection apparatus are two faces of one class of object: one rules whose contribution counts, one rules who is excluded; both allocate under scarcity, both demand attributability.
